Now it is Christmas, Nintendo has captured the market of Australia. The country is giving amazing sales of Wii Fit. Due to the interactive and innovative nature, kangaroos are also demanding Wii Fit. More than 1.5 million units have been sold in Australia. Similarly Wii has reached up to the mark of 750,000 units in 102 weeks.

Wii music is also appearing solid in Australians. Now 28,000 copies have gone from stores to the houses. Last week NPD declared that 2008 has been the biggest selling year for the sales on Nintendo Wii Fit. So record of Wii, Wii Fit and Wii music are creating fear for other products in the market.

There are plenty of games that are seen at stores for Christmas season. Hot games this season include the Microsoft’s Gears of War 2, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 4 and Nintendo’s Wii Fit. However as we were informed earlier, Wii shortage is expected this season again.

Speaking to GameStop CFO David Carlson, said that the retailer expects Wii stock to be completely sold out by Christmas. Wii Fit and Guitar Hero will also experience shortages. With Wii they still have some hope to meet the demands but with Wii Fit they are sure they will never get it in stock.

There has been a steady increase in hits from the Wii Fit. This is always good. However the stockiest have learned a lesson from last year’s experience with the Nintendo Wii. So they are trying their best to keep it in stock. As Reggie promised that they will keep the Nintendo Wii available at most major cities but never said anything about the Wii Fit.

According to most stores the moment they find any availability news of Wii Fit they grab it before anyone else can. Then they are sold with deal for a profit. The few stores that have the stock are bundling the game along with other expensive equipments or games forcing the customers to pay much more than the price.

Dr. Justin Liu, a Chinese American who is chairman of Back and Trauma Rehabilitation at the hospital is quite impressed by the function of the Wii Fit. He says that for every injury and disease the game has different exercise assigned. Liu has loved video games since he received the Nintendo Wii Fit as a gift in Christmas. He understood the potential of the game after playing it himself.

Occupational therapist Andrew Fon said that the Wii has been a great tool to help occupy patient’s minds. He believes that when they are playing they feel less pain. After hearing Liu’s program Nintendo sent him an advance copy of the Wii Fit for review

Wii Hab 11/09/2008

South Jersey Healthcare Rehab Care has introduced WiiHab for patients. It has shown more rapid improvement of their strength stability and coordination. Rehab Care Director Debbie Franceschini and Coordinator Kerry Nisco won the Wii and a flat screen TV in a contest in July. They were very impressed by the way it worked and the benefits the patients were getting out of it.

The center is now planning to get a Wii Fit system very soon. The goal is to improve activities related to daily living. They believe when the patents plays the game they forget about the pain and thus the movements that they make help them in curing faster.

Cheer Up! 11/09/2008

Well if you want to know the response of All Star Cheer Squad, then you should meet Natalie. Natalie is the cheer leader with the New York Jets Flight Crew. She stomps on the balance and makes all kinds of movement with the help of the Wiimote and Nunchuk. She enjoyed playing this game as she said she can see herself making movements on the screen and make changes in it if want to.

You know what we were all ready to buy that cheering game but dint dare as we had no clue whether the game was actually cheering or not. However after what Natalie told us it was shocking to see half of my colleagues missing from the office.

Ever since November 19, 2006, since the Wii console’s launch in the market, it has been in short supply. Enthusiastic consumers go to buy units, and return empty handed and utterly dismayed. The fitness product targeting families hasn’t been live up to production demands. But this time, Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America’s president has given out word that production has been doubled this year to cope with holiday gifts’ shopping.

Amid speculations that probably Nintendo was shipping units to other parts of the world due to the suffering US dollar, Fils-Aime proclaimed a monthly production of 2.4 million units. A whopping figure undoubtedly!

As much as it was hyped, Wii Music didn’t quite turn out to that grand a success in the Wii market. Although hopes had been high, this primarily music-oriented product by Nintendo gaming guru Shigeru Miyamoto has not seen the success they hoped for. The first week saw less than 100,000 copies sold in the first week.

Miyamoto himself hasn’t been able to figure out the reason behind the reduced interests shown by consumers in the market. The product departs majorly from its fraternity products like Wii Sports, Guitar Hero and Wii Play. Wii Music allows you to create your own music with its sixty different virtual instruments, and the penalty you pay for bad composition is utter chaos. In a completely different genre from its related products, Wii Music still has a long way to go before it justifies its creation.
